No Tea For Romney

No Tea For Romney

I think it is safe to say that Mitt Romney will not be invited over for tea anytime soon.  Unfortunately, Mitt Romney actually believes that he has a shot at being the chosen one for the Republican Party, but I am here to say that he is wrong.  For the past two years the Republican Party has been overrun by the Tea Party and the entire nation has sat back and watched the Tea Party completely take over the Republican Party.  When we began seeing the first signs of the Tea Party many people simply believed that these angry, extremely conservative individuals would simply go away.  Unfortunately we were wrong and they did not simply go away.

Power Of The Tea Party

Mitt Romney is fighting for the Tea Party vote.

Mitt Romney is fighting for the Tea Party vote.

During the last Senate and Congress election back in 2009,  the nation saw first hand what power the Tea Party really held.  During those elections we saw an overwhelming amount of seats in both the Senate and Congress be taken over by Tea Party members.  There were tons of seats that were overturned for both Senate and Congress that had once held mature politicians and now hold young and immature Tea Party members.  No matter how much backlash the Tea Party has been given by both the Republican Party as well as the Democratic Party, the Tea Party has proven it is here to stay and demands to be heard.

During the biggest issue on the table for our nation, the debt ceiling crisis, it was no surprise to hear that the Tea Party members, were the ones that had the clock ticking until the twelfth hour.  Even though the Tea Party claims that they are less then happy with the debt deal that went down, they still were given at least some of the things that they wanted.  It is safe to say that the Tea Party is running this show and they will be the one’s dictating who will be running for president for the Republican Party.

Tea Time

So the big question is, “who does the Tea Party back?”  Everyone knows that Michele Bachmann is definitely a favorite amongst the Tea Party.  Michele Bachmann is the one who started the Tea Party caucus in Congress and has been speaking out about all of the issues most important to them.  These issues typically will consist of the most important issues on the table for the Tea Party:

  • Abortion
  • Gay Rights
  • Jesus

However Rick Perry has quickly began to climb up the ladder and is definitely stirring up the Tea Party by adding just enough oomph and sweetness  to get these guys and gals interested.  The Tea Party love that Rick Perry wishes to have both abortion and gay rights not only off the table completely but also banned by the U.S. Constitution.  He is completely against Social Security, he just recently called it a Ponzi scheme.  He believes that universal healthcare is a joke and will completely destroy the United States by turning our nation into a Socialist country.  He also believes in the constitution and will make sure that it is upheld, since of course the rest of us “heathens” don’t believe in the constitution!  Rick Perry is the Tea Party’s dream candidate, that has just waltz into the ball just in time to stun and wow everyone there.

Mitt Romney needs to wake up and smell defeat.  Unfortunately, Romney doesn’t have a snowballs chance in, you know where, to be elected to run for president in the 2012 election.  Mitt Romney has said all the wrong things and is still trying to cover his ground to prove to both Tea Party members and the rest of the Republicans out there that he is worthy of their vote.

Not only is Mitt Romney a Mormon, which is completely unacceptable to the conservative and Christian Republican Party, he also has been caught in many contradictions that make the GOP feel very uncomfortable.  Rick Perry is constantly having to explain the differences between his healthcare plan and President Obamas, pleading for people to see that it is not a socialistic plan such as the presidents.  Romney has also been caught stating that he is completely opposed to gay rights, however when running in the Senate race he promised that he would be a huge advocate to the homosexual party.  He also thinks that we may have  a little bit of a problem with global warning, which is ridiculous to the Tea Party.  Mitt Romney has also had problems on the abortion issue.  He has not been as cold hearted and callus as his other counterparts have been towards women who are faced with the very difficult and sensitive issue of having an abortion.   He has refused to sign certain pledges that would end funding to places such as planned parenthood and other heath care facilities.

Essentially, Mitt Romney is just not the right fit for the Tea Party.  No matter how much schmoozing or elbow rubbing he does with the members of the Tea Party, Mitt Romney just isn’t what they are looking for.
