2012 Election

Who will be in the 2012 Election?  Will Obama run for re-election again in 2012?  Will Hillary Rodham Clinton run for the 2012 Presidential Election?  Who will be the nominees in the 2012 Election?  Who will be the 2012 Republican Candidates?  Who will be the 2012 Democratic Candidates?  Right now it is all up in the air.

President Obama is eligible to run for re-election in the 2012 Election, however by law, a President can only serve as President for two four year terms.  So if Obama is re-elected in the 2012 Presidential Election he will not be eligible for the 2016 Election.

The 2012 election is not only a presidential election, but many other elections coincide with the big presidential race.  As it stands currently, there will be 33 senate races (which may be more exciting than the Presidential Election if the Democrats keep their filibuster-proof super majority), the election of the 133th Congressional House Of Representatives and 11 governors races.  While the Presidential Race normally gets most people’s attention, the Congressional Races will be the ones to watch unless their is a very strong Republican candidate to go against Barack Obama, or if Obama should choose not to run for a second term.  After 6 months in office, his approval rating has slipped down to 54 percent, but this is common considering the number of obstacles he has been working on quite actively since taking office, including the economy, health care reform and international issues, including the war in Iraq and developing relationships with other Middle Eastern countries.  Most of his criticism is stemming from his spending and bailouts, which were some of his first major decisions in office.
